A Blessed State - Refreshed in Christ
Isa 44:3,4: For I will pour out water on the thirsty land, and streams on the dry land. I will pour out my Spirit on your offspring and my blessing on your descendants. And they will spring up among the grass like poplars by streams of water.
These are verses related to the concept of refreshment, as are Isa 43:17-28 and 35:1-10. God will provide refreshment.
What seemed so remote and incredible to believe, God had not forgotten His promise to Abraham. His promise was still real, just as His promise to not forget us or leave us, even in our darkest days.
The final word of encouragement rests on the bedrock of God’s faithfulness. God’s promises are true and reliable. There may be many twists and turns in the road of our life, but it is not a dead end. All of His promises will eventually find a resounding Amen!
We must not undervalue the provisions of forgiveness, fellowship, peace and hope.
The promised reward will more than compensate for our disappointments and troubles.
3 areas of refreshment:
1. Salvation. Acts 3:19. Repent so that times of refreshing may come
2. Brethren. 1 Cor 16. Paul rejoiced over the coming of the men mentioned. We refresh one another when we come together. Do you see yourself that way, as a refresher?
3. Worship. How refreshing is our singing together and our devotion to God?
How blessed are we?
