God loves us more than we realize or can ever fully appreciate. Eph 3:14-21
Live and Learn. Isa. 55:1-9
I desire compassion and not sacrifice, God says. It is the heart that I want, not rituals for their own sake.
God chases us with His love. I must seek Him whom my soul loves. Song 3:2 "I will rise now," I said, "And go about the city; In the streets and in the squares I will seek the one I love." I sought him, but I did not find him.
Hosea 2:15, 15, 23. 3:1-3; 6:3. Hosea had it hard. He was to go marry a harlot who would then be unfaithful to him. Not only that but God tells him to go love her again. God Will chase Them 1. God delights in and works toward rescue, we come to Him bankrupt, broken, bound and bad. There is only one to go to. He wants a total commitment from us. John 6:68, 69. We are diamonds in the rough - He saves us not on the basis of how good we are, but on the basis of what we can become. Titus 3:4-8. Isa 64:8.
2. God revels in showing Himself strong. It is not about us, it is all about Him. 2 Chron. 20:17, 20-22. Jehoshaphat comes before God and says I've got nothing. We have problems. But the prophet assures him the battle is not yours, but God’s. God will chase you either way - out of His love or out of His wrath. We have a choice to make. In Ezekiel 36, God says I will defend my name, vindication.
3. God loves to make beauty out of ashes. Isa 61:3 "To console those who mourn in Zion, To give them beauty for ashes, The oil of joy for mourning, The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; That they may be called trees of righteousness, The planting of the LORD, that He may be glorified."
Ezekiel. 37, rejuvenation.
4. He redeems what is redeemable in our world. What is a seeming roadblock to us, is an opportunity for God. The barren can conceive. A sea can be parted. The walls of a city can fall. Sinners can be employed in His service. We sang I want to be a worker for the Lord. Let Him show us what He can still yet do in our lives.
Ec 1:14 "I have seen all the works that are done under the sun; and indeed, all is vanity and grasping for the wind." Too often when God chases souls, men chase the wind. Jesus loves you, he calls you to come while there is time and opportunity.
