If You Knew

Knowledge can be powerful and transforming. If you knew you had one year to live, how would that change your life? What if you only had one month? One day? One reason people do not give themselves to serve the Lord is based upon what they do not know.

John 4 - if you knew who it was who said give me a drink, you would’ve asked of Him and He would’ve given you living water. And, whoever drinks of the water that I give him shall never thirst, shall become in him a well of water sprinting up into eternal life.

Ramifications and benefits of serving the Lord and asking Him, on His terms, to receive the living water only He can provide:

- cleansing in the blood of Jesus

- cleansing of our soul and conscious

- fellowship with God and with His people

- answers for fear and uncertainty

Impediments to serving the the Lord:

  • blindness due to Satan’s influence. “I don’t need any of that.”

  • Cost vs. yield. I understand Jesus is real but I am not going to follow Him because it will cost me something. That’s the wrong perspective. We need to look at the yield. The costs, whatever they are, will be nothing when the final yield is realized.

  • Enthralled with the inferior. The world has strong enticements that lure most away from the spiritual. It is giving first rate dedication to second class allurements.

  • Irrational fears. Of people who might be watching you and your behavior; be an example to people, don’t worry about them, or of failure. What happens if I fail? Failure is not final. Fail = First Attempt In Learning. Success is not final, failure is not fatal, it is the courage to continue that counts. Winston Churchill quote.

  • Conscience can be silenced as we go back to our comfortable life in the world. It’s easy to dismiss the unseen Creator and the spirit realm. Ultimately, discomfort beyond measure awaits if you choose this path.

If you only knew the incredible value extending to a bliss filled eternity in the presence of our God..... Psalm107:9, for He satisfies the longing soul and the hungry soul he fills with good things. Eph 3:19 - blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteous for they shall be filled
