To Will To Work for His Good Pleasure
Romans 3:21-26. Just keep reading. Someone has said this is the single most important paragraph ever written. It’s in fact one continual sentence. Romans 8 is a chapter you really need to read the whole thing to get the gist, same with Eph 5. That goes for Phil 2 as well, our text for today.
Phil 2:12-13 should be the focus of our lives. To work out our salvation with fear and trembling. This is talking about personal responsibility. No one can do this for you. However, you have significance assistance from heaven - for God is at work in you, to will and to work, v13.
Our Savior set the Father’s will and pleasing Him at the center of his life. There’s the key. That’s where it all starts. Once we get that right, we can get to the part of God working in us.
How do you see yourself? As God’s instrument; as His vessel of honor; as His confident child; as His servant of His people?
Why be His instrument? God is awesome and deserving. He has made awesome provisions for His people and pleasure promised if we’re patient.
People do not reject God because they desire too much, they reject him because they expect too little.
