“But if all prophesy, and an unbeliever or outsider enters, he is convicted by all, he is called to account by all, the secrets of his heart are disclosed, and so, falling on his face, he will worship God and declare that God is really among you.”

1 Corinthians 14:24-25

Visitors are always welcomed to our assemblies. You will find a friendly and caring family at Decker Prairie; however, our worship is not primarily catered to visitors. God’s word tells us congregational worship is focused on two goals:

  1. Honoring God as the Creator, Sustainer, and Deliverer. As such, we aim to “offer to God acceptable worship” (Hebrews 12:28-29).
  2. Building up the body of Christ. God’s people are supposed to grow together (Ephesians 4:1-16).
We greatly value of visitors. That is why we want to provide what is most needful when they visit. Paul explains in 1 Corinthians 14:24-25 that speaking God’s truth is the best way for congregations to influence visitors. At Decker Prairie we aim to do that through weekly sermons, Bible classes, song worship, prayers, and weekly memorial of Jesus death. These are all avenues of speaking God’s truth to all who are present. When truth is spoken God is honored and people are encouraged; both members and visitors can be convicted and “called to account” (1 Cor 14:24). Our goal in worship is for everyone present to “declare that God is really among us” (1 Cor 14:25). Join us in our effort to praise God and find comfort through His love and grace!
